From New Zealand’s Marlborough wine region, the 2004 Brancott Sauvignon Blanc, with 13% alcohol, costing under $15, and scoring an interesting 15+ points on the 20-point Dionysian scale.

I drink SB’s from three to ten years old usually, but this one proved you can hold them. It was not as veggie as when released, but it’s turning amber which doesn’t bother me.

Served with scallops. It went very well.

The New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs are getting expensive and the new prices do not reflect an increase in quality. They still have that “cat pee” nose and the grapes need more direct sunlight, but they work for summer parties. In Vino Veritas.
