With 12.7% alcohol, costing about $20, and scoring 17 outstanding points on the Dionysian scale, the 2017 Bellview Gruner Veltliner from New Jersey’s Outer Coastal Plain AVA is delicious. Great citrus mixed with herbs. This medium weight wine is ideal with sea food, white meats, and salads.

This Austrian grape has found a second home in South Jersey’s vineyards. It is as good as any I’ve tasted anywhere, maybe even better than most.

It is yellow gold with a spicy complexity that enhances most dishes. I served it with a vegetable soup course to start the evening meal. I love sharing a glass in Cape May’s BYOB’s.

This is a white that can age a few years, but it is quite charming right now.  Everything from Bellview reflects quality and their wines should be sought  out and shared with people who think they’ve tasted America’s best wines. They will be impressed.   In Vino Veritas.
