The Donnachiara Greco di Tufo, with 13% alcohol cost under $16 and scored 15+ points on the 20-point Dionysian scale.
Filled with mineral flavors, pear, some unripe pineapple and has a lingering citrus flavor in the aftertaste. It’s a good seafood wine. The grape first came from Greece, thus the name Greco, but is best made in Sicily.
It’s grown on clay and tufo stones and is always an intense yellow when released. It’s quite dry but smooth in the mouth. An ideal food wine. In Vino Veritas.
