The multi-vintage Gruet Blanc de Noir scores 17 points on the Dionysian scale of a possible 20. Its 12% alcohol is perfect for this New Mexico sparkling wine, or for any sparkling wine.

Served with a high acid Italian fresh tomato and eggs over crusted bread, the sparkling Gruet cleansed the palate and made each mouthful taste as good as the first one!

A French House making Champagne-style wine in New Mexico from all red grapes; hence ,”white from black” or “Blanc de Noir”.

Made in the traditional method, right in the bottle, this wine had hints of light cherry pit and some mineral. The fine bead of bubbles lingered a long time and its floral notes made us drink it too fast. Remember, champagne glasses can not have any residual soap in them; if they do,  you’ll not get bubbles. Explain that to people in restaurants like Dionysian Rich Gerber does.  In vino veritas.
