The non-vintage Natali Vineyards Dolcetto is 12.5% alcohol, smooth, light and with the two extra years I aged it, scored a Bronze 14+ on the 20 point scale the Dionysians use.

Grown and produced in the Outer Coastal Plain of Cape May County, New Jersey, this Italian grape is ideal with anything sautéed in olive oil. Italian varietals seem to do very well in south Cape May and Natali’s usually stand out.

Natali Dolcetto with sausage, sweet potato, zucchini, onions and orange NJ tomatoes for an Italian evening.

The wine was short in the mid-mouth, but pleasant with the meal and that’s what counts. The Cape May style is not as heavy as the Italian Dolcetto wines, but they pair well with food.  Seek some out for around $16.  In vino veritas.IMG_3356
