The 1994 Monte Antico has 12.5% alcohol and peaked about five years ago. It scored a good 14 points  on the 20-point Dionysian scale. It is all Sangiovese and they suggest having it with pasta, which I did with friends, and then I had it with chicken soup and grilled cheese sandwiches; even better.

For 21 years old, it has earthy raison aromas with a medium aftertaste. Balanced. Made for food.  It cost about $6.99 back then.  In vino veritas.
