Scoring 15 points on the Dionysian 20-point scale, this Spanish white is an ideal warm weather wine and a great starter wine for bigger autumn meals. The 2010 Marques de Caceres is from the Rioja region of Spain.
Costing about $9, it a great buy.
At 12.5% alcohol, its a nice food wine. Made with 100% Viura, it has pear and mineral citrus notes over a subtle white flower nose. This grape is called Macabeo throughout Spain except in the Rioja and Rueda areas. At five years old, it is mature and will hold another few years, but most people like them very young.
Perfect for fish, chicken and veggies. In vino veritas.
